ASystole unofficial lyric Video

ABOUT THE VIDEO: This project is the final piece from my motion graphics course in college. We were tasked with creating a lyric video. This song had such interesting and simple lyrics I felt I could imagine the video as I was hearing the song. The word asystole means a heart flatline or in the case of this song, the end of a relationship.
I came up with the narrative of a flower being pushed through the chambers of the heart and slowly losing petals to show the push and pull of the relationship and the slow loss of petals representing the classic "he loves me" or "he loves me not" based on how many petals are pulled off. The chorus breaks down into a single word so the animation breaks down into a single line representing a heart beat. The remainder of the song is the breaking down of the relationship and losing parts of the flower until no petals are left. However the animation ends right where we began representing the full cycle of the relationship.
